The incredible untold story of the first TSOM gig overseas

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

New exclusive on my TSOM blog.
If you thought that the first Sisters gig outside the UK was the Mallemunt Festival in Brussels, you should read this : http://sistersfan.blogspot.co.uk/2016/0 ... first.html

Someone'll have to track down a bootleg now.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

I did ask, and the ever helpful Amedeo did kindly contact a few old friends to see if anyone had any photos, audio, video etc but sadly nothing. I'm sure something will turn up one day though.

Usually local newspapers archives tend to be treasure chests in such cases, at least for photos.

Agreed, but according to Amedeo "local papers didn't even know what the hell was going on".

Corriere Adriatico
Published in Ancona, on the Adriatic sea, this newspaper made its debut in 1860 under the name Corriere delle Marche to promulgate government decrees by the newly unified Italy. Today it is one of the most popular newspapers in the area.

They are around Ancona since 1860, maybe they have something

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
