Sad news. Rest in peace.
Lord, what can the harvest hope for, if not for the care of the reaper man.

Time to log in again, be it briefly.
Absolutely struck down by this, I talked with him only a couple of days ago...
James was an absolute character, a lover of good music, and his heart on his tongue.
He adored my band For Greater Good, he adored my wife, my kids (oor Noor!) and Big Pete of Type O.
He came over to Belgium to see us live once, and he cried in his Duvel.
He was a grumpy git but a truely lovely man.
I'm crying now and will do more later this week. And I also think about his Molly, what will become of her now?
Damn, Jam~es, too feckin early mon!
Get pished, destroy!
You Bastid!

I'm sorry, but can this be confirmed? I spoke to James on his birthday, just a few days ago. He's one of my best friends, so I want to make absolutely certain that this news is real. I'm not casting doubts on anyone, I just want to get confirmation before I accept that one of my best friends has died...

I can't but echo sentiments already expressed.
Upset and shocked.

BE asked me to post this here from FB;
Black Dahlia here for those that remember. James made my avatars (who can forget 'Jesus loves twin action!) and loved The Rutles as much as me. He wanted Megadeth played at his funeral he once told me. By God I hope he gets it xx Iris Mountbatten and proud!

Stunned, but pleased that at least we had a good chat last week as he introduced me to video chatting on Facebook and pointed out my set up provided the darkest, crappiest connection he'd suffered. Cheers James. Smoking away, conversing about music, meeting up, drinking, gigs, mutual lost friends, getting in touch with old friends, death... He was talking to me from a wheelchair, his ankles having buckled, waiting for his carer to arrive, but smiling, warm, optimistic, reassuringly critical of everything. It felt like the start of being better at keeping in touch with each other...
I am a Leeds United fan because I was very naughty in a previous life.

Ah, Mr. Blast. I (fondly) remember how you couldn't stand my "bappy hirthday" wishes, and how I *really* annoyed the crap out of you at one point by inquiring after your health (and waxing pedantic about nutrition, exercise, and weight management). After that, we never spoke again. Alas. I'm sorry that in my Aspie-ness, I didn't understand. Wish I'd had the chance to meet you, Sir. Rest in peace.
I left my heart in Ballycastle...

I cannot cope with this.
Extremely sad news:-( Though Jam-es and I had our difficulties, I do have very fond memories of him at MacHeartland gatherings, his legendary marathon drunken BBQs and the occasional gig. And I do miss his company a lot. I mean, who could forget the washing machine story? And who else could get away with such shennanigens?
I would also like to attend his funeral if I can.

RIP Dale: 1994 - 2009
Neither can I. We just had a Facetime blether on his birthday. I played 'Happy Birthday' on my guitar to him. Made him laugh. We had a long, long talk about all sorts of things, including his upbringing and how he was getting back on his legs again, doing physio. Hung handle bars all over the house, so he could 'monkey aboot', which he said made his physio trainer laugh. About how totally wrecked he was by Tryptikon's awesome gig at Wacken, which we both watched on the live stream, and which he watched again on Youtube. He was having a celebratory birthday dinner with McDonalds burgers, which he insisted he absolutely loved. Blaast loved his burgers, as anyone invited to his 'meate burning fests' can attest. We said we'd speak soon again. Now I'm finding myself making arrangements to attend his funeral, if I can find out when it takes place.
I am fuckin' devastated. I've lost my brother.

My eulogy. Many words, still not enough...
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go do something I haven't done in over two years and get pished drunk.

I met him only a couple of times, but he acted as if we ware friends for years. it saddened me we did not maintain our friendship any better but for my part he still was, this news really hits me now.
James, whatever happened, whatever has been said, you where as true/genuine as a person as I can imagine anyone to be.
you had a hard life, but you lived it mate! Bravo and godspeed.
poor Molly.

You do realise he's sending a virtual get bent to all these messages don't you?
Shockingly sad news. As previously stated, he was a miserable confrontational individual but he was also a kind funny man.
Despite being exiled from these shores (by myself in part) we stayed in touch through other channels. I know he alienated some people and could be downright rude but underneath all that he truly was a nice guy.
I don't like thinking of him not being out there anymore.
