THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.
Well, even the band have always refused to play it live :-p
i see what you did there

"Someday! Someday, everything you need, is just gonna fall out of the sky..." -A.E. Reading 1991
"Don't forget that most of the judges in witches trials had harvard degrees."
Not quite sure if this counts but, although I love the song, I'm not overly fond of the radio session version of 'Good Things'. The demo is superb though imho
It´s interesting how many people find Body and Soul the worst Sisters song....to me It's one of the grooviest Sisters tunes.....almost like a poppier version of Alice. The lyrics may be somewhat silly and naive...but so what...
The least favourite? no such thing really.....Walk Away maybe.....not bad, but rather boring......and Still & Arms.....the haunting lack of new ideas nowdays....
For me "least favorite" is relative to my expectations. Vision Thing has a couple of clunkers on it (I Was Wrong and When You Don't See Me), but I always felt that Blood Money is nowhere near as good as the rest of the FALAA-era material. There is something that annoys me about it, like it never really lifts off the ground.

It's got a nice little bassline. I loved playing it back in the days of TMM.
I like it. Maybe being released after The Reptile House E.P. and Temple of Love is the problem for that song. After 2 such blasting masterpieces the single possibly couldn´t really live up to the expectations (also being the first release on WEA). But as I said, I like it, although I think the other 3 songs on the record are even better.

Yup. Especially the bassline ....
even the detractors seem split over it. big si or weebles, cant remember, which dislikes the record but loves it live. i personally love the hi-hat bit that goes "te-te-te-te te-te-te-te te-te-te-te te-te-te-te te-te-te-te te-te-te-te te-te-te-te te-- tiss!" when played live.
in fact if it wasnt for the weight of the 12"s i had bought before (TOL ,Alice, Rep House Ep) the Body and Soul 12"could well have been definitive of the sisters for me. THE best version of Body Electric without question.
hey! do you think if Von read this thread he'd care a blind f**k? answers on a brick to......devnull.
"And all my promises are lies
All my love is hate
I am the Politician, and i decide your fate"
It's a good song and also a perfect flipside/counterpart to "More" - "learning to cry for fun and profit" indeed; well here's the "fun" part. "I need all the love I can get"/"yeah yeah yeah yeah you could be the one, just get undressed". The two songs just work together.
Will I Dream always seemed a weak, limp, meandering nadir of the Pearson years to me. That's my vote.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
