If you could ask Andrew Eldritch one question...

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

YCBTO - yes or no?
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

totally understand where you come from. BUT at the same time an artist must surely create? I see no creation, or at least I see no will to create meaningfully. I hear a bunch of half arsed songs on dodgy bootlegs. Okay, so he no longer has anything relevant to say, in which case, stop pretending you have, and shut the f**k up.
I read this before falling asleep the other night and thought it over. I reluctantly see your truth here. I disagree about wanting an answer to the question, though. I can provide more palatable justifications than the truth could. ;)

To me, art has to reflect life back at me, and that depends upon my 'state of mind', so on different days I accept different art, I give it all that first chance though.

To me, I'm hyper-analytical and impervious to art in most forms. When something gets through to me, I don't question it.

I do wonder about art as communication vs as a one-sided expression. And I wonder a lot about where the talent really comes in...vision or execution or even manipulation of perception.

I am moved by someone who wants desperately to create but can't manage to manifest anything objectively worthwhile. (We've all known such people.) I'm less moved by someone who willfully doesn't create. I admire your ability to give it all a chance. I usually dismiss it all instantly as s**t unless proven otherwise.

By 'trade' I'm a pharmaceutical chemist, with a growing bias to quality assurance, so I'm as analytical as you get lol

Smiley -- the plans for a little kidnap caper are a secret. It's the only way we'll ever get a new record. And I'll take very good care of AE ;) and keep him away from bouncy castles.

It could be said that it would be a little kidnap, as you possibly could fit the target in your coat pocket.

Too right, the previous Ms Swinnow did observe that he was "short in the arse" and I did laugh, 'cos Ju was only 5'3" herself.

I'd say he's about 5'6" or 5'7". He's 3-4 inches taller than I am. And about 80 stones lighter.

When you inevitably kick the bucket do you really want Vision Thing to be your last official full-length musical statement?

On this note, when you inevitably kick the bucket who would you nominate to record music to your select live vocal tracks for all unreleased Sisters songs since the 90s so that fans can finally buy that gold.

The obvious answer to this is "yes"
"I've seen Andrew Eldritch in an ice hockey shirt onstage, and I've given him the benefit of the doubt"
