!!Media alert!! 6Music gets its goth on + goth world cup

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Sunday 29th October at 4pm GMT
British poet Murray Lachlan Young takes a lyrical look at the shadowlands of Goth and the Gothic.

He's joined in the studio by music journalist and presenter Andrew Collins to talk in depth about this genre that spawned out of a post punk world.
Just heard the trailer & Temple Of Love happened 8)

edit: Steve Lamacq is also doing The Goth World Cup every afternoon at 4pm GMT next week

Jeepers, Murray Lachlan Young! there 's a name I haven't heard in a long while. Bought his poetry album back in the day. Think it was really enjoyable if I remember correctly. Never thought of him as really goth though I could be mistaken.

For the radio you don't need to register. You just need flash.
I use the tunein app on my TV so it pipes out of the hifi.
Cheers.

If The Sisters win this round, you never know.
But The Cult seems to be steam rollering them this round

General consensus seems to be The Sisters would win if it was a song from FALAA, as it's not, they are going for Bauhaus!

In fairness, Bela Lugosi's Dead is about as goth as it gets.

My heart lies with Wardance but I've never thought of Killing Joke as 'goth'
