Eureka Machines news

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Liking the sound of this:

"Victories’ reflects a side of Eureka Machines which we’ve always wanted to explore – a slightly rawer, more punk rock, in-your-face approach. Something a little more like the live experience – the four of us in a room, playing hard at punishing volumes. It still sounds like Eureka Machines – big pop songs with noisy guitars and loads of harmonies – but with perhaps a darker, slightly more sardonic edge." :D
Yep. I went for both too :D
Same here ... already 95% of goal, btw ... :D ... and T'Yorkshire EP is a also a cool addition ... :D ...
Yes - especially like the Red Lorry Yellow Lorry cover :D

I'm not sure yet! I hear one and i'm like 'ooh, i like this one', then the next 'ooh now i like this one!' :D

I've only listened through once and i tend to immediately like the bigger more guitar based power tracks, as first time i just go for the general sound.

As i listen again to the songs as a whole and take more note of the lyrics, i'll probably end up liking one of the slower ones more.

Need to have a proper listen but very impressed so far!

Anything jumping out at you?

Yes!
And funnily enough Chris on Twitter says he wrote this originally for the Sisters:

Was listening to ‘I’ll Call You’ off our new album as reference for something last night when I realised I had originally written this for the Sisters. The melody was different but the rest was similar, especially the big Motörhead bit in the middle.

Also, speaking of Twitter, i tweeted about the new album from my cross stitch account and got this reply from Chris!
Wow, i'm so happy!

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I got the digital stuff too. It was all included in the pledge, but I do love their presentation with the booklets & stuff.
There's still a problem with that last bonus track though (Might Be Stars). One's supposed to be a flac but they're both mp3 files.
The covers disc is amazing. I think that is the best Johnny Cash cover I have ever heard in my life.
Cheers.

The dates in May have been cancelled. It's no surprise really, but still a bummer. :(

Still supporting Therapy? at their rescheduled London and Manchester gigs in September, provided those go ahead...
