'Kill the Lights' Bootleg

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Anyone know much about the demos on Side B of this: https://sisterswiki.org/Kill_The_Lights

Are they genuine, or just distorted, fuzzy recordings of the official releases mocked up the bootleggers? And do they appear on other bootleg sets, or are they unique to this release?

haven't listened to that in years

quite enjoyed the early floodland demos when I first heard them

was that the version of Fix that wasn't actually anything to do with that Sisters? Just a random fan-made demo off a baseline and some Crowley-esque changing that somehow got attributed to the Sisters?

You're thinking of this thread? ;D

That's right, the fake Fix, which is what was in my mind when I asked about the the others - how many times did Lights get demo'd for instance, is this just a nth generation copy of the 'final' take.

Never occurred to me to actually play the Fix demo, but now I have, it makes me doubt even more the others legitimacy.

Either way, Kill the Lights is too all over the place for me. I also like the Floodland demos, but not on the same record as a '1983 demo' of 'Good Things'

The version of Fix on that album isn't the fake version with the guy reciting some sort of incantation, I can't remember if it's a genuine demo or not though.

Afterhours is definitely fake. There were lots of supposed Afterhours demos on various tape compilations and they were all copies of the record.

Yes, I'd have expected better from Palazzograssi. It's as if they were so eager to release the Floodland demos that they hastily bunged some filler tracks on side B just so they could release it as soon as possible, rather than choosing more carefully. For example the Dominion demo belongs with the Floodland demos. At the very least that should have been track 1 on side B, surely?
