Ghost 2019

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I understand the 'why', but I can't stand them.... Too fake and too dull.

Theatrics with a Scooby Doo theme music put on it.

I do understand why, i, even, had a period of listening them, and consider going to see their live act, but i lost interest. I buy this cheap theartical bits, because i see self-parody (to some degree), in this, and as i was listening King Diamond and Notre Dame, but sadly their music, at closer hearing, sounds too static to me and Tobias' (Pope) vox irritates me.
They do their job when it comes to image, marketing and PR and, after all their music refers to well known music and standards.

Each to their own. Not really tempted by Ghost as I got all that kind of thing out of my system by seeing Kiss at Deeside Leisure Centre when I was a sixth former.

Ghost are an odd band to catagorise, they dabble in Satanic imagery and religious symbolism but the music is far more akin to AOR and prog rock than it is to heavy metal. That said "Prequelle" was my album of the year for 2018 and their Royal Albert Hall gig was fantastic. Yes it's all been done before, Alice Cooper and Kiss back in the 70's and Crimson Glory were doing the mask idea back in the 80's . but let's be honest here , we are Sisters fans , we are hardly at the cutting edge here.

Prog rock is a genre I really don't associate with Ghost. AOR I understand.
