I had the best time with some brilliant people (don't ever change)
I loved every minute except for the narrow escape of death or serious injury with MH & the girls on Thursday night
I thought the Saturday gig was much better than Friday and the band seemed to be tighter and more polished.
Can't wait to see you all again & sorry I didn't get to chat with you for longer Swinnow.
There was a lot of love and genuine warmth at the weekend - it was great.

That was... Exciting, I suppose is one way of putting it. I was down that way subsequently, no indication anything had happened aside from the obvious lack of outdoor tables.SmileySister wrote:...the narrow escape of death or serious injury...
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I'd almost forgotten about that incident since. The subsequent gigs must have diminished the effect. But yes, it was Crash, but thankfully not Burn.mh wrote:That was... We were in a restaurant and were just about to leave when there was an almighty bang. A car had mounted the path at the entrance ripping up the decking and scattering all the chairs and tables before colliding with a pole.Being645 wrote:What happened?

Oh hell. I'm glad none of you (or anybody else) was injured and hope the driver got away with a shock as well. Thank you for clearing this up ... ...Microcosmia wrote:We were in a restaurant and were just about to leave when there was an almighty bang and a car had mounted the path at the entrance ripping up the decking and scattering all the chairs and tables before colliding with a pole.Being645 wrote:What happened?
Thankfully nothing of that happened.

Yes, we'd just paid up and I was about to go out for a quick ciggie. Initially, we thought it was an explosion but the car that crashed scattered all the tables, chairs and decking everywhere. The driver made a run for it but was caught and brought back to the police van and cuffed. When we got outside, we saw debris everywhere and another car with significant damage with someone nearby who appeared to be injured.
Far too much excitement for us so we had to steady our nerves with another G&T
On the upside, we did see outside The Holiday Inn having a ciggie.

So, by my reckoning, we're about 7 songs short of being able to cobble together a full bootleg bootleg of this gig.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
