Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Where do you stand on bread & how to toast it?
I'm a 5 on this scale, but then it depends on what I'm toasting it for.
2 or 3 is okay for a bacon sarnie, 4 for croutons & soldiers, 5 for marmite or peanut butter.

3. or maybe 4 at a push. if using sliced white bread, it does just as well straight from the freezer.
Quiffy and I have already discussed with you the madness of using toast for bacon sarnies, yet you persist. NURSE!

Pretty sure F.U.C.T. will have some input at some stage.
But lightly toasted for bacon sarnies is a must.
You have to have the stiffness for soldiers or they just crumple on boiled egg entry.
I am also partial to a 6 now & then. But I have to open windows or it starts to look like a Sisters show in the kitchen

i'm happy with toasted for soldiers, just not bacon sarnies!
I don't like brown bread toast.
Your toast is just goff.

Try it.
But make sure the toast is still warm when you eat the sarnie. As it cools it gets more rigid.
As for the goff toast, take the batteries out of your smoke alarm first

Nice way to find a Sisters angle
FWIW I am a size 4 in toast.
...and I favour a squishy white roll for bacon butties, or melted cheese option, for veggie friendly

I have heard there are people that dunk bread. And I thought dunking biscuits was a perversion!

3 or 4 depending on what it's with, probably a 3 if naked - that's the toast - not me.

Well, that is the nearest I have ever heard to a justification for brexit.
On the above I go for a 3. Pass the lurpak please.

ok, naked as in not actually naked but with a bit of butter / marg.
If it's 'dressed' then it's got something else with it, like eggs, beans, whatever!
Dunking bread - yes
Bacon Toasties - no

That's just wrong.
Brown sauce before the bacon, on the other hand......

Has to be brown sauce, especially with bacon, and preferably HP. Ketchup is for southerners

Soup is permitted as people eat soup as opposed to drinking it. Never dip anything in something that can be drunk. First commandment.

I actually enjoy it burnt. But the butter needs to be soft or it shatters when spreading.

I couldn't eat burnt toast like that, might as well mix coal dust with butter and eat that.
Now crumpets however, they do need a good crispy burnt top, they can take it, as you've still got that squidgy middle.
