Most of the google alerts I get for The Sisters Of Mercy are about the nuns, but this popped up today.
Worth a read.

In some ways I find this stuff fascinating but in other ways it's a bit frustrating: "Hey look at all this really cool stuff that was happening when you were 13 and didn't have a clue!"
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

The regularly over-flowing toilets were the scariest thing about the Phono in '82/3 . In those days you never joined a taxi queue you just walked back up the hill to the wasteland around the Uni, usually via Tony's caf.

I had to be born in 1970. any later and i wouldnt be a metal dog (i dont know many of the alternatives but my friend cath is an earth rooster >shudder<) and the universe would have had to postpone its unplanned invention of Heavy Metal for a different year thus allowing the possibility of somebody s**t beating Sabbath to it. any earlier and my dad would have technically have been a pedophile. when you add to that the fact that a large percentage of people who saw the "classic" Sisters line-up seem to have had all the succeeding incarnations ruined for them i am quite happy here ...and its not even raining
EDIT: "a Sisters of Mercy convention ...where fans could dress up as members of the band." so everyday clothes then

"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
