THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Didn't Aqua cover a Sisters song?, or was that just another hellish nightmare that I had?.....if so, why isn't that on a covers comp?. Thats what we need, sod all these half arsed Goff groups, I want b*witched coving More or 5ive doing YCBTO.

Boyzone's I Was Wrong has always brought a tear to my eye.

BTS' Romeo Down really puts it all into perspective. Should be included in this comp.
Hasn't at least half of this already been released? I know (or I think I know) I've heard a lot of that. I guess the Paradise Lost cover is tolerable, but from what I recall everything else is terrible.
When it comes to Sisters' covers, the best ones that come to mind are Lambchop's cover of This Corrosion and the Supersuckers doing Afterhours.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.
How on this COVID-infested planet is this even news?
As noted above, there are five(!) tribute albums...I knew of three and was already depressed about it but ran to Amazon to count and sure enough:
1) First And Last And Forever: A Tribute To The Sisters Of Mercy (1993)
2) Monochrome: A Tribute To The Sisters Of Mercy (2000)
3) A Mercyful Tribute to The Sisters (2000)
4) Thank You! (A Tribute To The Sisters Of Mercy) (2002)
5) The Violent Hour - A Tribute To the Sisters Of Mercy (2013)
I bought the first two used a long time ago. Overall, abominable. First and Last and Forever has some funny Amazon reviews, I also put one up years ago. David E. Williams' cover of Black Planet takes a terrific beating all around. Across those two albums, I would say there are maybe four tracks in total that I would replay...otherwise there's so much bad baritone goth it's shameful. And to be clear, I couldn't even tell you if I replayed said track in the entire 2010s. Most of these outfits seem to have been put together just to record these s**t covers.
Adrenochrome by Lymon Willis is a fine one, i heard it today first time ( i think ) but like it. Thanks for sharing it.
Hollows ToL is an interesting one, but would like to hear it in a live cover even from a phone cam to judge it.
From the songs in compilation, and haven't heard before, 1959 gives something new but it would need a Steinman to give an appropriate Borgia Party feel in it...

Sisters covers require originality.
Nobody should ever listen to my cover of giving ground. But I'm pretty proud of my version of Summer, as the best attempt two 16 year olds could do.

I actually think that's pretty good. Quite listenable. Well done. Particularly if you made it when you were 16!
Covers of Sisters' songs tend to be dreadful, but I quite like this one.
Yeah, I like this one too. I think anyone who does a straight cover of a Sisters song is generally on to a loser. The best one by far that I've ever heard is Lambchop's This Corrosion.

As we appear to be doing this, here's my version of Still.
That sounds alright to my ears
Is there an mp3 version to download from somewhere of this?
