Wow. To any man who has posted comments on this page to make negative comments about Patricia Morrison, all you are doing is making it painfully obvious that you have no life, no class, and I'm going to guess that you have not only never had a successful music career yourself, never had any fans of your own, but have also probably never had a girlfriend. It would be safe to say more than one generation of music fans consider Patricia Morrison to be beautiful and powerful enough of a musician to the point of being iconic. I'm going to guess you cannot say the same for yourself. Furthermore, I'm going to guess that you took time off surfing for pornography in your parent's basement where you live to make some rude comments about a woman who you don't know. Patricia has had the fame, fans, success, self respect and music career that you haven't and if hiding behind some lame mask of anonymity on a Sisters of Mercy comment thread while bashing a woman for no longer looking exactly as she did in your 1980s posters makes you feel some sort of empowerment or like less of a eunuch, you're a moron and not much of a man by any standards. Get into whatever 12-step program you need, stop attacking women who you don't know or those you do for that matter, try to think about how to improve your life rather than remaining a mentally-stunted Aldrew Eldritch fan, and humbly ask your higher power if you're clever enough to acknowledge one to help you to grow past the place where you're stuck as it's a really sad, stunted place. Jim, "Slight overbomber," hiding behind a cartoon image...this means you. You've obviously got problems with women in general, cupcake. I'm signing off this thread for good and am done with this site so throw all the mud pies you want in response to this because I won't be reading them.

Never in the history of the internets has a person's first post on a forum been so pithy, concise, or well-phrased. I salute you sir/madam - boomshanka.

The whole thing is just brilliant. but...
FWIW I hope you don't stick the flounce, there are plenty of folk on here who agree with you John. (Can I call you John?) Patricia is an integral part of Sisters history, and even by his own account, Andrew treated her pretty damn shoddily.

Haters gonna hate but that revive of a necro thread is very rare to see...
And didn't even write myself a bad word for Patricia all those years.

Also worth linking to Patricia's own take on this here
PatriciaVanian wrote:A close friend of mine alerted me to this discussion here and after reading through it I can no longer sit back and just take it. You people call me 'FatPat' and say that I was 'eating all the food that was backstage' and worst off I am accused of not being able to play. I am a musician and I wouldn't have lasted this long in the business if I couldn't play.
Don't you people have anything else to do other then to throw insults and lie about people here.
Yes I did play on Floodland, though Andrew did record over some of my parts. I received the same pay as a hired hand would get and was treated just the same. I think your idol here was spending way to much time sticking things in his arms and up his nose to care about anyone around him. When I left instead of pay I was given some clothes and stuff in lieu of pay and was treated like dirt. That is just the kind of person he is, after a few years Andrew gets tired of people and casts them aside leaving a trail of hurt behind him.
This was a long time ago in my life and I have moved on to more important things like raising a family and being the best mother I can be. If you people want to say things to me then get the facts straight and move on, I have. I am proud of my work with the Sisters but not proud that it ended the way it did.
And if any of you are brave enough then come to one of The Damned shows, we are in the U.K. now, and I am usually around the backstage area, and say these remarks to my face if your brave enough.
I have a life that I am living and a family that I am proud of and have moved on from this and you people should to.
I don't know what's wrong with you people here clinging on to Andrew like he is some demi-god.
Now let me get back to this bucket of chicken I was eating.

Normally I'd consider that a bit aggressive for a first post and telling them to try getting to know people, be nice etc before going on the attack. But considering what this guy's attacking, I'm just gonna wave him on through. But I would point to what fiendy said: we're not all like that and maybe you should get to know the rest of us before trashing the whole joint. Having said that, having that as your one and only ever post has a certain style and is surely enough to earn the guy his own special ranking. I propose "Slamming through".
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

The bands first album was First & Last & Always, Patricia wasn't a member yet!ageofmaya wrote:Is the grammar the point here, or something else?eastmidswhizzkid wrote:i stopped reading at "1st album"....

Well, personally I think it's a shame she was kicked out in the way she was. She may not play the bass as well as Craig (understatement) but she's much nicer to look at! Plus the Sisters really need a bass player. The Doktor can play, but he's not very lively and doesn't look as good in a PVC dress.

Her first album, not the band's. And as ageofmaya specified TSOM albums (so not Gift), presumably this refers to Floodland (overdubbed Patricia's recordings) and Vision Thing (she was still in the band when they started work on it, but was replaced by Tony James before she'd recorded anything.)eastmidswhizzkid wrote:thank you Dan, that was my point.Dan wrote:The bands first album was First & Last & Always, Patricia wasn't a member yet!ageofmaya wrote: Is the grammar the point here, or something else?

Dave and Ez are my friends). with this and the weirdness from ***** the only female left untainted is Sioux...fuckk
