Interview with Andrew on 'Request Video' around 1991

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I don't see what people are saying is "knobhead" about that interview, apart from the war stuff, which is absolutely in character for "Colonel Kurtz". But on another level it's trolling; the kind of thing Gary Numan fell into in the early 80s, praising Thatcher because all the fashionable pop stars were doing the opposite.

I don't see him as a knobhead in the interview, sometimes quite trite and opposite as you say. I mostly see him though as a spoilt public schoolboy who complains when his record does n't sell.... maybe if he'd have stayed with Hussey, Adams and Marx he may well have been playing stadiums. (and no I'm not trolling)

Well, Marx went off, and so did Adams and Hussey. And are they not all still playing "stadiums" at festivals? Just for the facts.
Beyond that, he behaved as he used to quite from the beginning. With his own special sense of humour and a good portion of
opinionated provocation... ;D ... Maybe now musicians would rather try to come over as reasonable as possible for the sake
of say, social points, but those were other days.

i remember thinking at the time that the first Gulf war was justified in as much as the UN had a responsibility to stop rogue nations invading others.. i dont see Eldritch's opinion being that different.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
