Paint My Name In Black and Gold: The Next Phase
If this is about sending to the EU ... Unbound won't ship unless the pledger agreed to pay any possible customs charges. This, apparently, was put in an email at the beginning of November. Without a reply to that, Unbound will not dispatch. If a pledger is waiting for Unbound to become part of the EU scheme that means then there will be no custom charge then the wait will go on ... If a pledger want to risk the customs charges, email support@unbound.com
So the scheme issue has not been solved yet. That was the point, yes. Don't know why it's taking them so long to be honest, got a couple of english friends with their own music labels and they arranged it in a couple of weeks back in the autumn.
In my case it's not just taxes, In wouldn't mind throwing a few more € into it, but the lost packages. We had three orders coming from overseas in the last couple of months, one from the UK, another from the US and another one from Canada, and two of them dissapeared within the system and the third one got returned to the sender we don't know why. It's a mess.

If a package is damaged or lost, I think Unbound will resend or replace. (I can't give any information on Unbound joining the EU scheme; try that email?)z666 wrote: ↑30 Jan 2022, 15:47 So the scheme issue has not been solved yet. That was the point, yes. ....check your spam mail. My notifications for customs are always deposited in the Spam box. So it could very well just be waiting for you.z666 wrote: ↑30 Jan 2022, 15:47 So the scheme issue has not been solved yet. That was the point, yes. In case of a movie which actors you imagine could play the young couple in all trip from Italy to London?Paint My Name In Black And Gold - page 189 wrote: The day after Mallemunt, the young couple from the sleeper train
found themselves, to their horror, travelling with the Sisters on the
coach from Brussels to London. This was stopped at the France-
Belgium border and, after one look at the Sisters and their coterie by
customs officials, searched for drugs. The couple complained loudly
to anyone on the coach who would listen how the Sisters of Mercy
had ruined their entire journey from Milan to London.

Unbound mailed the non UK buyers when the book became available about It. If we wanted the book to be shipped at that time we would need to be ready to pay for the custom taxes. Or we could wait until Unbound joined the EU scheme and then there wouldn't be custom taxes. Apparently they have not complete the paperwork for some reason and that's why we're still waiting. If you want the book shipped anyway just mail them and they will send it. I never thought it would be longer than a couple of weeks, tbh.

its slightly unhappy, yea.
so like two weeks ago i replied to that old email, asking them to send me the books.
they said, oh yea, we just finished the whatever eu tax scheme and your book is about to be shipped.
in two days i got an email from the post office asking me for details about the package as it was caught by the customs.
since that, nothing.
but..i guess the post office wouldnt ask for customs details if unbound did in fact join the eu tax scheme whatever.
i really dont care anymore, i just want to emphasize, that unbound could work a lot on their communication. either the process of tax scheme, how its going and when they gonna send the book, at least.
but hey, its gonna be nice to read the book, some day. sigh, brexit retards

Absolutely, yes. As I said I Know a couple of guys who arranged the scheme thing in a matter of weeks and they said it was way lees painful than they'd imagined. Don't know about the specifics anyway. What does not make any sense is what happened with your shipping. If they have finished the paperwork there is no customs involved anymore, so they must have shipped it before that.
PAINT NY NAME Paperback ... this will be out in November, Unbound tell me. If there are errors in the hardback, I can correct them. I can think of two: it's Dave DICKSON who wrote for Kerrang! Extra; and Claire Shearsby DJ'ed at the 30th anniversary show (not the 25th). If other factual things need amending, please do let me know.
That's good news Mark, glad it's coming out. Will the corrections update into the ebook?MAndrews wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 14:52 PAINT NY NAME Paperback ... this will be out in November, Unbound tell me. Good question ... will try to find out.DomConway wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 11:55That's good news Mark, glad it's coming out. Ok, just in case anybody non UK based is waiting for Unbound to arrange the paperwork required to ship the book without custom charges here's some info: they aren't.
A week ago I contacted them for an update. Just an update, never mentioned I wanted the book shipped. And they did exactly the same panzerfaust had posted: before any response I got a tracking number from the carrier they're using and then an e-mail from Unbound saying they had shipped the book and had been told (I wonder by whom) the custom paperwork was ok. Well, it was ok, yeah, all sorted out for me to pay 14€ to get the book, but definitely ok.
So looks like they have no interest in joininig the f**king scheme, otherwise there's no reason why it'd take them so long to do It when for the rest of the world it's like a two week process. And that's fine, maybe they don't have enough EU customers of whatever, but they should simply let us know.

A timely reminder - I'd actually forgotten about this, so I've likewise dropped them a query, and we'll see what there is to see when they respond.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
Following response from Unbound:
So that's good news, and we'll see how things go over the next week or so.Thank you for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear your book has not yet reached you. We received our IOSS registration and the warehouse have been working through the backlog of EU orders getting them dispatched.
I've pushed through your dispatch and you should receive it in the next week or so.

I got my copy today, think I ordered it from Goodreads.com.
Appreciate the larger print, I can't stand tiny print, hurts my bloody eyes.
Binding seems nice, unlike a hardcover I got of some Aliens novel where the cover just fell right off. Must have used dollar store glue or something..
And I noticed there's pictures, I love pictures.
Now I just need time to sit down and read it, and hope it sells well enough to warrant a sequel.
I mean I know book sales aren't that great these days but you can thank Pornhub for that.

That's really odd, Amazon is usually lightning fast but Goodreads, the place I got it at just a week ago, they're now saying its out of stock, and Target, who claimed to have it in stock is sold out as well.
So either the book is selling really well or a lot of retailers aren't stocking more than 2-3.
