Thanks for the vids. That last one, the complete show, has a lovely bass sound to it. Von's guttural growl is quite prominent. Good separation between him and Ben. Ben is still a little louder, but it may also be something as simple as that his higher range cuts through the mix better.
(I've been told this is why if someone on even a big stage is playing a Tamborine, it generally doesn't have to be miked for the sound to carry because it's pitched quite high.)

Agreed. The sound quality is impressive. Anyone fancy Photoshopping a cover for this one?Todashi wrote: โ03 Jun 2023, 10:40 Thanks for the vids. The show was great, Von and the crew really seemed to be enjoying themselves despite some jerk throwing beer cans at Von and Dylan a couple times. The sound was great, especially when Lucretia My Reflection came in you could feel the pulsing drums it was superb. Here are some pictures and clips I took of the event
Also it was nice to meet @6FeetOver briefly. Had to make the 10 hour drive back home

Another full--show video here. Notes from the uploader:
WARNING: The first 20 minutes of this video are hard to watch due to technical issues, which resolve itself after that. If you want to watch my video, ok, if you can't deal with it, ok, if you want to skip over that part, ok.
Sisters Of Mercy, filmed live as it happened and uploaded here to you tube exclusively by me, Stefan Sonic, at The Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York on June 2, 2023, as part of their "At The Planet Edge" Tour.
Filmed on iPhoneSE2020 at 4K 30 FPS, video created in iMovie with sound remix feature "music enhancement". I was prohibited from using my usual Canon VIXIA HF R500, if I had that, this would be a whole lot better, trust me.
Well, visually this is not the greatest highlight, but the sound is just great ... many thanks to Stefan Sonic ... ...

...speaking of bass-no bass player to be found?! Hubs and I were both rather annoyed that much of the sound (including bass and backing vocals) seemed to be pre-recorded... Meh.

They havenโt had a bass player since 1992.

Doktor Avalanche has been doing bass and keyboards as well as drums since 1993, and by the sound of it, a few backing vocals now too

I've done my penance for my ignorance, and I'm over it.

Now: may I complain that Crash and Burn wasn't played? I was really looking forward to it...

The Doc doesn't do any backing vocals. Ben sings backing in a few songs in a lower voice than normal (like Marian) and it sounds a bit like it's doubling Andrew's voice. That was my observation.
Kings was a great gig. The best part about this tour has been the volume. It's LOUD. A nice change from 2008-ish.

So the "falsetto" (as Hubs described it) in some of the songs was Ben or Dylan, then?
Also: YOU were there, too?! Crikey! Well, at least Nyth Grandbeard said hello...

Yeah the high voice is Ben. And on a few songs he sings in a lower voice. I'm quite sure there are no recorded vocals.
Yes of course I was there. Do I know you? I certainly would have loved to say hello.

Welll...it has been years, to be fair-nearly 15, in fact-since we enjoyed The Girls' epic Election Night Out at Toad's Place in November 2008... I seem to recall much mirth and jumping about!
