Where are you off to? Enquiring minds need to know

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Swans next Friday, and then Heliung a few days after that. Next show on the calendar is The Chisel/Home Front/CMI. They're playing at an expensive new-ish waterfront development in DC and I can't imagine what the crowd will be like. Government lawyers cosplaying as working-class I'd guess.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Heilung were phenomenal. I kind of wavered on going, but I'm glad I did.

Swans I've seen three or four times before, and they've always blown me away. Not this time. I never thought I'd describe a Swans gig as boring, but this was f**king boring. The ratio of brilliance to art-wank was far too heavy on the art-wank. Most of the night sounded like an orchestra tuning up punctuated by occasional and all-too-brief moments of sublime power and beauty. Profoundly disappointing, since I know how good they can be. It was so bad I actually left early.

I'll be at Nick Cave in Leeds too, give us a shout if you see us! My first of his.

I went to WGT for the first time as well this month, that was mindblowing. Wish I could be in a few places at once!

there isnt much on other than s**t i dont like. with the notable exceptions of Hawkwind -who failed me miserably last time due to their f**king hippy wanker audience no lightshow and no LSD- and New Model Army. At around 30 gigs of theirs ive seen with not a single dud i will try my very bestest to attend.
Justin might be a uit up his own arse but theres enough of Slade The Leveller still in there for it to be 2 hours of 1989 again.

The VirginMarys - Macclesfield Heritage Rooms - 2 November 2024 (seeing as they, not unlike a certain other band oft discussed in these forums, ain't PLYCing on their tour)

Bugger. I'd have gone to that but am booked in for Nick Cave in Leeds. Underworld tomorrow Halifax Piece Hall though. Have a spare if anyone wants to shout now?

Will look at other dates though, they're a band I want to support. Good to see them supporting Ugly Kid Joe on other dates, presumably the connection with the top man Chris Catalyst coming into play.
