1998 Guitar Sound

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I am aware this is a rather niche question but if anyone knows they're probably on here. So I really like the 1998 guitar tone, which is especially noticeable on FALAA and Summer. But for the 1999 tour it sounds noticeably different and would continue to do so despite being pretty much the same people in the band. So I'm wondering if anyone knows what they changed. I'm assuming its probably just different gear but it does sound a lot different.

I have dozens of guitar presets that follow the sisters sounds.

1996-1999 are the only years where we can clearly hear an octaver pedal, you can very easily hear it on Logic's intro from that era.
