I'm up for this! 8)
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Seriously considering this, although holding off on the off-chance they announce somewhere a bit closer and perhaps slightly less likely to get downpoured on. Kelvingrove Hotel seems cheap enough (well, half the price of the Enterprise, put it that way), so it's defintely a strong maybe at the mo.

Has anyone ever been to a gig here? Is the front-of-stage area a free-for-all or is it ticketed? VIP? Curious to know, not that it'd particularly affect whether we come or not. Cheers for any local assistance and knowhow :D

Same thoughts here. I know Gothicbiff saw Siouxsie there.... and it rained. :urff:

I've been to a few, it's a fun venue. While it might say "seating" it's really just concrete steps apart from the front-of-stage which is actual wooden benches. I can't recall ever seeing separate tickets for the benches being sold separately though, last time I was there it was a first come first served basis (as is the rest of the venue).

Twice, for Siouxsie and the Bunnymen, rained both times. But they say the third time is the charm.
The standing area is indeed a "free for all".
Now come on, you know you and Charlie want to.

Cool cheers, so basically tickets are all GA and in you want down the front then queue early, as per usual with any GA venue? Good to know. I'd be quite torn between that and heading to the very top / back row and admiring the unique view. We shall see. Charlie says some hotels are booking up so we may have to decide and get somewhere booked. Rain macs are always an option, and Charlie has an absolute beaut in that regard 8) ;D

I'd absolutely prefer Glasgow had the climate of southern Europe for open air gigs but ah well, it doesn't, so maybe the bright yellow Metallica raincoat I bought in a half drunk Vinted trawl for no good reason will now have a purpose in life!

On the plus side, if it doesn't rain :von: will probably be delighted to wear it on stage.

 it's about thirty times bigger than him. Not that that should stop you Von, if you take a fancy to it. Charlie says if you do you need to cover a Metallica song. I recommend The Call Of Ktulu or Orion :innocent:

Bear in mind that "time" for the museum is going to be 4 hours minimum. It's colossal, and there's just too much amazing stuff to gawp at. I had to drag myself out of there last time around after getting to the room with a Spitfire hanging from the ceiling, and I think I'd seen barely half of it by then.

You can get good quality black ponchos on Amazon pretty cheap. They fold up tiny and are good enough for staying dry when hiking in Nepal. Just an idea 💡
