Yes, you read it, i'm a virgin, i've never been to a Sisters concert
They have been here in portugal only twice, in 91, when i didn't know them and 2001, and i wasn't in the country at the time, so i miss them I haven't had the chance to go to another country nearby when they were touring, so i never saw them live.
But seven years in tibet said that Sisters concerts are not that fun, that people get together in their groups and basically everybody is unpleasant. Is this true? I want to have a good time when i finally attend one of their shows, if i ever
i'm a virgin

well personally i've seen the sisters four times and had a bloody good time at three.
this may or may not be connected to any or all of the following...
...the three "good" gigs were all fairly intimate, small-scale secret/fanclub shows
...the one "not-so-good" gig was the only one my ex attended
to be fair to seven years, i believe he was referring to the behaviour of certain sisters fans at various festivals over the years and i can't really comment on that cos i've yet to lose that particular cherry....

In my experience, whether or not a band's excellent, mediocre, or just plain bad, the audience's behavior and the general atmosphere at a live show can often make or break the event, at least for me. Case in point - I saw Peter Murphy twice on his "Deep" tour, whenever the hell that was, heh. I remember virtually nothing good about the show at the Ritz in NYC (with NIN opening), because the crowd behaved abominably. People were getting shoved and trampled to the point that they literally had to claw their way out of the sweaty, violent mass; girls were crying, etc. This behavior was still going on when Pete took the stage; at one point he actually *stopped the show* to plead with the audience to knock it off. In complete contrast, I saw Pete again at a show later that summer, this time at a rather small amusement park venue in Connecticut, USA. It seemed as though practically no one had even heard of him or the opening act (this time around, it was House of Love), because there were *tons* of empty seats at the venue. Guess what? Pete had people move down to the front area near the stage; it ended up being an amazingly respectful, intimate show for about 300 people (if that). That was one of the most wonderful concerts I've ever been to in my life, and I'll never forget the beauty of that evening.
In TSOM's case, I first saw them in March '91, and was completely blown away (partially owing to the fact that I met half the band afterwards, but that's a different story, hehehe ). Recently, I went to see them again on their "To the Planet Edge" tour. I was incredibly disgusted with much of the audience; people who weren't down on the floor by the stage stood around gabbing and blabbing all night, not dancing, acting as though they were doing someone a favor by simply being there, and disrupting the show for those who were there to actually, you know, *see the band*!!! I ranted about this afterward; my rant's actually on one of the main TSOM fansites, but, as you all say, I "can't be arsed" to go find it, hahaha!!!

Peter Murphy and The Cure will be here in a summer festival in August and i'll probably go yayy
So i gather small venues are more fun
Those people that are at Sisters shows to see and be seen can just go and take the trash out (sorry, couldn't think of anything offensive but not disturbing to say right now ) I'd be there to sing and dance and whatever else happens, $%#%/ those people

Saw the first in 93, managed 24 since then, only about 4 properly dodgy ones... They're almost always top-fun, but anyone who has seen me at one probably knows how out of it I get, so I'm probably not the best person to ask! Faves have been The Fenton Leeds 96 and Glasgow 2000 (2001? god the years are all melding into one!)

@RobF
aaah - the fenton '96 - what a night!
"contradictions are meaningless, there's nothing to betray"
Guess I'm just an old slut.
I've Chalked up 16 so far. The first at Wembley on 24/11/90 and the most recent at tha Astoria on 23/02/01.
Furthest travelled - Mer'a Luna near Hildesheim in Germany on 12/08/00 (yes, I do have my ticket stubs in front of me).
Favourite show so far - Vanbrugh College 16/02/01
Worst show - The Refectory at Leeds Uni on 17/02/01.
Perhaps the intimacy of the previous night was too much to compete with?
Biggest disappointment - arriving in Hamburg for the Helter Skelter festival in '96 only to find out it was cancelled.
:mad:
Eagerly looking forward to the next one.
IMHO nobody does it better - not for me, anyway.
@RobF
Glasgow Barrowlands was 02/09/00.
Quite close to home for me!
I've also seen the Smurphs twice in 99/00.
If everything goes to plan I should see them at least once this year.
Like I said - total slut.

You are what you drink - I'm a bitter man!
Only seen the sisters once, highlight being that I met my darling love there (all together now - awwww).
Seen the smurphs 7 times - oh dear, enough said I think

Gosh, tis 10 years today since said meeting. Which also means its 10 years today since we had our first arguement. So to mark the occasion we've just had another. Isn't life a wonderful and precious thing
