Seen some really rare stuff go very cheap and not so rare stuff go for a fortune.
Remember when the pics discs of FALAA appeared for the first time on ebay.
Some guy bought a copy for 390 £. I bought mine one week later here in Sweden for 15 $.

I agree. I think most of us have the Royal Albert Hall concert in some form. Who wants another copy of it in puke coloured vinyl and wants to pay 125 Euros for the privilege? I certainly don't, but whatever floats your boat.

I got one with moving pictures and sound, possibly on something called a video cassette for about 5 pounds 3 months ago on ebay. The vinyl looks nice though, but 125 euros? I don't think so.

why is vinyl so revered is sisters bootleg land ? Vinyl can sound better than cd for proper studio stuff, but thats never the case in bootleg land where the pressings are always a bit rough, noisy and crackley. I'd always choose a tape source over an LP. Surely with bootlegs its about the sound and not how nice the crap recording quality looks ?

especially when the reality of the situation is probably that one of the multi disc pressing runs were faulty and they did a cheaper re-run on black vinyl.

Some people will buy anything. I sold a Dead Kennedys LP for £40 last year to an idiot collector, I have a 2nd gen cass of the same source which sounds superb and blows the LP sound quality out of the water - didn't bother him though, he wanted the LP. Ebay was made for such people.

set - so thats roughly £100 ? To say that theres the
sbd tape, a commercial video and at least 4 different audience
tapes sources that are freely available thats alot of cash
to pay for something thats sub-standard to anything
mentioned above.

at least my RAH copy is something very rare
and i m happy with that
and sister vinyl boots are a part of the whole sisters history

I can see both sides of this issue; personally I don't care how "rare" something is; as long as I can listen to the music I'm happy. For others the quest for that "difficult-to-find" item is what collecting is about. Fair enough.

I'd never equate boot LP's to art - I knew a guy in Preston who did
quite alot of bootleg LP's in the 80's - it was nothing to do with art
at all, just about getting cash from punters - he didn't care where
the tapes came from, if the pictures or info were were right either.
All it mattered was getting it out as quick as possible to sell to the
people who went and if you got it out before the end of that particular
tour you made alot more.

Your re not wrong on this one,
but there are some really fine boots around and their are worth it
RAH boot is one of them

if you have ever seen a copy i think you ll agree on that
but as Markfriend said its nice to own something realy rare
even if it has a dodgy cover
don t feel the same though about the cd boots that s why i don t have
many of them

and by the way you guys live in Leeds which makes it very easy
and of course less expensive to get something
I have been to record fairs in London and never paid so much money
for a record as i do on ebay but since i dont live in the UK anymore
i have to settle with the prices on ebay

In which case the video (£5 off ebay) is like the Mona Lisa, whereas a crackly bootleg with substandard sound is like buying a postcard of the Mona Lisa.

I don't care how "rare" something is; as long as I can listen to the music I'm happy.
