It was on £22 this morning. I was half considering bidding at that price...

A feast of the zero feedback bidder
My copy, in somewhat better shape than this item, only cost me $6 USD some years ago ...

A bargain it was even though it wasn't anywhere near perfect.markfiend wrote:Bargain! Hats off to you!Hojyuu-obi wrote:My copy, in somewhat better shape than this item, only cost me $6 USD some years ago ...
I'm starting to believe that some people prefer a beaten up, my-dog-used-it-as-a-frisbee copy to a near mint copy, must be Goth thing
Just remembered: Y. found a B.E. Mayking test pressing for £50. Go figure.

Just a little bit, hounesttaylor wrote:Hojyuu-obi : seems that you're a bit obessive with sealed copy isnt' it ?
A sealed copy means that the record hasn't been played before, as for the Walk Away 12"s and 7"s that's pretty self-explanatory to why that is interesting to collect ...

i dont agree totally
From entire Sisters discography just the the Walk 7/12 and the lp's was factory sealed. all others items that you found on Ebay are not factory sealed but dealer sealed. So you aren't sure that records are unplayed
In usa most of 2nd hand vinyl shop seal the vinyl but record are used.
A machine for seal the sleeve is very cheap and most of large dealers got one. In the past I had bougth vinys from ebay (cd too) that was "factory sealed" but when carefull open disk was full of fingers prints, scratch and so. So beware not all that bright is gold

the only way to tell is that slight static feel when you slide it out of the cover. But then it won't be sealed anymore

Don't you think I was aware of that ? For instance the German No Time To Cry 12" I got came from a former Californian record dealer who heat sealed them himself many years ago, the record I received was dead mint. German 12"s (Maxi) were never factory sealed only after export to US just like you mentioned above, the exception being the Ltd. When you don't see me 12" because of the patch. I have an original UK No Time To Cry 12" w/ envelope sleeve that was heat sealed after export to US not only is the record mint the sleeve was perfect too, so it all depends; when dealing on eBay you should always ask first to avoid disappointment .taylor wrote:> Just a little bit, hounest

Otherwise all Elektra & Warner Canada releases were factory sealed in shrink wrap as far as I know ...

@ Taylor
There's another 'disadvantage' to records sealed in shrink wrap as they sometimes will be warped ... It's a good thing to ask sellers if the sleeve edges run in a straight line
