And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. if you want to go down that "virtual instrument" route there are a few things to consider:

all those extra instruments run in the backgorund and all use additional processing power and memory. you will need a pretty chunky pc to get the most out of it... mine is a p4 1.7 with 1gb of memory. and i need to kill any unneccessary background stuff :roll: :urff:

also, you will need a decent soundcard - one with "asio" drivers.

this is a must both to get a goodquality sound and to avoid "latency" (the time lag between you or cubase telling the vst instrument to play a note and the vst instrument actually playing the note). my old soundcard was a bog-standard "gamer" soundcard and there was a huge lag... i bought an m-audio "audiophile 2496" and that does the trick. they used to be about £90 but have come down recently ;)

and then of course you start getting into home-studio stuff, and so you will need decent speakers so that you can hear your mixes. i bought alesis m1 studio monitors... overkill probably but i like them ;)

if you wanted to record real instruments and vocals on the computer...do you know anything about that?

i really can recommend cubase sx - latencies are calcualted automatically (i guess this is the main advantage to prior versions) - altough i just have ac97 onboard sound its no problem to record in real time in studio quality (24 bits; p4 1.7 gh 256 ddr) - it does not deserve any special asio drivers - most of the tracks for summer were recorded by microphone without any troubles via line-in - i do use a digitech effect processor as a pre-amp - real electric instruments are just plugged in also

it was a very nice barbecue

I've found a dinky little thing on my Mac called "Garageband" which seems to do (some of) the stuff like this. It might not be entirely (or indeed anywhere near) as good as cubase, but I'll give it a pop.

I'll go at "Slept" as no-one else has volunteered.

You never know, I might even be tempted to put a vocal track on it too.

Im impressed :)

Shame their are no lyrics though, nice bass, and 12 string guitar(i think).. You pretty much got it all.. Id do a track, but im incredibly busy at the mo :(

No, I'm I not connected to the Cooper Temple Clause; I just put those videos online for a friend. That was the only place I could put my tune.

Anyway, thanks for giving it a listen.

It turned out alright, although it did take at least twice as long as I’d planned. (Lots of mistakes etc. - I’m out of practice that’s for sure)

kind of. we are endevouring to make backing tracks of the new material, to save eldritch the bother. the being that he could then take them and go into a studio and record his vocals over them, with minimal effort. which is how he seems to like it these days ;) :roll:

its limited to the new material. i think the 3 you listed there were the 3 remaining ones that havent yet been "bagsied". there's no reason why you cant do one of the other new ones though. that way he could choose which he preferred.
