Pfffffft! :P Hey, man, I realized awhile ago that I look a right arse in velvet and frills. Plus, I'm lazy as f00k, and those clothes require maintenance to look their best. I can't be bothered. So jeans and tees it is. Actually, I'm more into retro stuff like flares and big sunglasses these days, anyway...along with the big chains and hoodies. Basically, I wear whatever the hell I like (and whatever fits - as a 6'1" girl, that's often a challenge, you know! :P), and my clothing choices don't necessarily fit neatly into a single "genre".

Actually I think I'm turning into some kind of Hippie. I fell asleep listening to Hendrix with candles burning last night, having dreams like I'd had a serious dose and woke up at 5am (luckily). Oh and I've always got 'The Fear'.

Yes,I'm a goth alright.Although I spent most of the 80's thinking I was a punk.
I'd never heard the term "Goth" until around 88,someone told a joke, something like "Q:What's black and purple and lies in the gutter? A:a dead goth".I'm there doing my best Carl McCoy and ask "What's a goth then?",The answer came along the lines of "You are,you stupid hippy!"
I always considered myself as a punk,I dressed in black as some of the bands I liked did "The Stranglers","Crass" etc. They weren't goth.
Some of the post/positive punk bands I was into are now standard goth fare
"Siouxsie","Damned","Cure" etc ,but no-one referred to them as goth in those days.
Even "The Sisters","The Mish" and "The Neph" never referred to themselves as goth in the day.
I've been a Sid clone,a Mohawk,a dusty cowboy, the lot.It all seemed a natural proggression of punk to me.
Even when I was raving my tits off to psi-trance in the 90's,it was still punk to me.The clothes were different,so was the music but the punk spirit was still there.
When I returned to the goth scene in 2000,I discovered that Goth had now become a catch all term to describe all 80's based alternative music and,in that case then,I am indeed proud to be a GOTH!

Nope, never. I’ve never been put into a genre, I’m too plain looking.

Dammit, the options are somewhat lacking..

Hows about

"yes I might have worn the occasional item or two of black, but somehow the look was always killed by that hawaiian shirt..."
