its back 8)

http://www.sisterswiki.org/

and powered the mighty (!) heartland servers

the dns has only recently been updated, so some people might still not be able to see it yet. if you can't, just hang on in there and it should appear sometime over the next few hours...

to all the current sisters wiki moderators: you shouldnt notice any difference. all usernames & passwords etc shoudl be unchanged, but do give me a shout if you have any problems...

you'll know you are looking at the relocated version because i've changed the page title structure from

Code: Select all

<page name> - Sisters wiki dot org
to

Code: Select all

<page name> - Sisters wiki dot org - The Sisters Of Mercy Wiki Pages
for a nice bit of SEO ;)

I remember there used to be loads of biographical information and a discography and videography. Now all I see is the "Brief Overview" :?

Thanks to some international bandwidth problems at my work it looks like the site wasn't really available to people outside South Africa (that'd almost all of you then).

Fortunately QB has kindly offered to take over the hosting of the site from me, an offer I'm only too happy to accept as I haven't been very good at looking after it for a very long time and it can probably do with some proper attention. It should also mean faster load times for most of the site's users.

Within the next 24 hours you should also start seeing the site on the Heartland servers and not on mine.

Oh, and I just edited the front page so it looks like it should. I think one of the spammers took away some links at some point.

Please keep us updated. It's a great reference source and if the site does disappear I'll need to make sure I copy all the good stuff and save it.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

will do. i have a copy of it ready to upload (its actually a lot smaller than it looks when you start drilling down through it!) :)

for now, i've taken the liberty of registering a url for it (£5 for 2 years ;D)

http://www.1959andallthat.co.uk/

for now its jut set up to bounce you to the geocities site but if/when we get the go-ahead i'll move the whole site over to there properly :)

oh yeah, and an update re: 1959 and all that...

oliver got back in touch and pointed out that there is already a mirror on the tsom.org servers

http://1959.tsom.org/

he said he had been thinking about updating it (due to the new lyrics being posted on the official site) but wasnt sure if he still had his password

if he can get back in he will move it over to my servers, but i think he probably will so for the time being i have changed the url redirect on www.1959andallthat.co.uk to go to the tsom mirror rather than the geocities one.

if the situation changes at all i'll post an update here :)
