Saw The Cult open for Metallica (I kid you not) at an open-air venue, years ago; the demented/m0r0nic Metallica fans not only ruined The Cult's set by booing and being overall complete arseholes the entire time The Cult were onstage, but actually rushed the fence separating the general lawn seats from the more-expensive seating nearer the stage, trampling and injuring many people as they went. Security didn't stand a chance. One of the few times at a show where I've actually feared for my safety. B@stards!
I also met ol' Ian when I worked in a shop on Melrose Ave. in Hollywood in '92; he'd come in looking to buy a pair of shorts. I know this because he told me ("looking for a pair of shorts, love!").
More Cult

Besides Slayer and the Pumpkins, can't say I'd swap any of the others for The Cult, still, have a great time Psichonaut, like Andie says, it IS heavy metal heaven.
'What a heavy load Einstein must have had. Morons everywhere.'
I hope the new album is better then Beyond Good and Evil I really tried to like it but ...
Saw 'em live on that tour and DAMN they played the most blistering, raise the hairs on the back of neck version of Rain I've ever heard.
My jaw dropped and I was just in awe

Well, the shop must have done, because I remember him handing me his credit card to ring up his purchase. That's how I knew for a fact that it was him, and not some look-alike...Andie wrote:did you have shorts for him?SINsister wrote:I also met ol' Ian when I worked in a shop on Melrose Ave. in Hollywood in '92; he'd come in looking to buy a pair of shorts. Sadly, I remember that he was far more diminutive than I'd anticipated (kind of like a certain Mr. Taylor *cough*). Kinda ruined it for me, after that, y'know?
I left my heart in Ballycastle...

Saw them last year in Sopron & Rain was v good (quite apt to considering the downpour we were getting)
Off to see them in Budapest in 3 weeks.
Off to see them in Budapest in 3 weeks.
i saw them last time in Brixton (06) and before that in Brixton 2001...for me the only thing that stood out above the norm was Spiritwalker
in 01 they hadn't really rehearsed the song properly and it was like a decent tribute band playing one for the man at the back.
last year they had it in the set and it was brilliant...heavy as feck drummer just like Nigel Preston really made it for me
i wonder what they'll play this time

I can't believe that Ian is just a short guy , when you see him on stage he looks really tall !
They're playing in Holland tomorrow , Den Haag , but it's sold out ,
I last saw them in '86 and would love to see them again .
they're playing the Melkweg in Amsterdam on Sunday 17th June...i think there's still tix available for this if you hurry...Elise wrote:
