"vicus" is a nickname, that was given to me in school during the latin-lessons. There were three people in my class with the name "Matthias", so everyone of them got a nickname.
vicus means village. There are several small towns round my hometown Bremen, with the ending "-weyhe" in their name. My last name ist Weyh, and that's the way things like this happen.
btw: that was about 1984. Nowadays there are more people, who know me as "vicus" as those, who know "Matthias".
