Wrong. I've been a producer of digital media since its inception, to the point of being involved in selling the first digital music file ever, but I can assure that you're wrong. Vinyl has superior abilities over CD:s, at least when mastered properly. When DC:s are properly mastered, they can approach the same quality.
But either way, CD:s are passé, and vinyl is cool. So the combination of high-res audio files and vinyl is an obvious choice, for many artists these days. I don't know where you live, but at least here in California it's all the rage both with old and new bands.

Like I said, I've been a fan since 1983. I'm used to dealing with disappointment, which considering the somewhat reluctant publishing habits of our Beloved Leader means that I've had to learn how to deal with severe frustration. And I chose to think positive about it, no matter the odds, just because it makes me happy to think of the possibilities. Can't help it.
Maybe another 20 years with no recorded output will make me see the error of my ways
