@ Johnny Boy - I have to ask - were you cutting clear perspex - so you could see what you were doing?

Before a deluge begins there are clear and coloured perspex available to DIYers and other *cough* professionals ;-)
It was still covered in protective plastic with lettering all over it and I hadn't switched on the lights in the garage and I'd been cutting wood previously and so there was lots of sawdust about anyway and when more sawdust started to appear I just assumed it was the original sawdust getting agitated by the vibration and when the cutting got tougher I just assumed it was the toughened perspex and yes I am a twit.

erm... attemping suicide has got to be the most stupid thing I've ever done (I do not recommend it unless you have a foolproof/painless plan and can seriously justify leaving behind friends and family who care about you...)   :?

Hmmm...the dumbest thing I've done in recent memory was last night. While trying to fix the blinds on my bedroom window, sans step ladder, the (light, aluminium) curtain rod fell off and clocked me in the face. If anyone asks about the small, red lump on my right browbone, I plan to tell them I got it in a championship boxing match, because, when lying, one should always stay as close to the truth as possible.

Scardy, hin! What brought that on? You always seem such a chipper fellow
I'm jolly glad you are still with us,it would of been a big loss to the universe if you had done as you intended.
I'm quite in shock.
I thought things being so bad to go down that road was my province being the utterly neurotic lass I am.

thanks for the kind words! It was a long time ago and is best forgotten really. Without wishing to be an attention-seeker I will say that I am a moody old bastard in general, with a long history of depression.

Moody old bastard? I never thought so. You always seem lovely!!
I guess that we're all different under the surface than most people percieve us to be though :?

Was just cleaning and pulled a Dyson down the stairs right onto me. It's now been entered into the list of stupid s**t I've done over the past 16 years.

That would be too obvious a lie. The similarity between the words "Glaswegian" and "glass jaw" is no coincidence.

Umm, off topic i know, but shouldn't it be stupidest instead of most stupid?
English is not my first language so i'm only asking to be sure which one to use when in a conversation.

Danke

"stupidest" would be considered more correct, particularly in written communication, but this is not to say that "most stupid" is incorrect or bad english. indeed, in spoken form, "most stupid" may actually be a better usage as the speaker is able to pause between "most" and "stupid" to allow greater emphasis.

all this is, as ever, imho, but i hope it is of some help.
