As for non "thing" things..

Memories of my dad and grandfather and i suppose the uncomplicated memories of childhood.

Would that be the Parker Fly?

Richie put your choice on the table so everyone can compare and contrast then.

i've decided that Mr strange qualifies as a 'possession', because if someone tried to steal him they'd be on the wrong end of emily's anger... not pretty.
presumably he'd be pleased to know i care enough to get into a fight.. i'd have to ask him

This is a bit sad, but I'd have to say my Sunderland scarf (if we're dealing exclusively with posessions).

My Auntie Lil (this is an aunt in the 'old female relative whose real title is too complicated to work out, rather than a sibling of my parents) bought it for me when I was seven and my Dad took me to a match for the first time. Her late husband, my Uncle Clark (see above), had taken my Dad to his first match when he was about my age, and up until his death a couple of years before had been badgering my Dad about keeping the tradition going. Lil herself died not long afterwards ... had she not been ill she would probably have come with us that day as well.

It's one of the few things I still have from my early childhood and represents some of my dearest family memories (it's a bit superstitious, but I try not to ascribe family memories to people who are still alive, if you see what I mean). Plus it's bright red and white, and if I happen to see us lose a game all I have to do is wash and we'll win next time I take it to a match (sometimes. If we're playing crap opposition. Terms and conditions apply).

So what more can you want: family history, childhood memories and a piece of magic synthetic fibre/wool mix. I guarantee it would have Ford Prefect's towel any day

Even the moonbase!

Very jealous now....

I have a few Herbs, a few Magic Roundabout but no Clangers.

And they are far too expensive to buy now.

Nice to know they have a good home where they are valued though!

hmmm...probably

1) the cats
2) the cup of coffee in front of me
3) my books, especially the copy of 'Falconer's Lure' by Antonia Forest I acquired last year after spending 20 years hunting the bugger down...
4) a silver ring, which I wear on the 3rd finger, left hand, & to which is attached first an invisible leash & then a suitably chastened Mr Rhombus & his well-kicked arse...
