Out of curiousity

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Btw. What's happened to TINSTAR these day's?
Hmm... best info I've found is:

"TIN STAR: This is a strange one. Last thing I heard they were releasing their second album, DIRTYBIRD in America, which I presume DID happen, as I've seen it advertised on the web. (I have a copy of this, but would like the actual release, so if anyones got a spare, please email me!oh, and its a great release, if you've not heard it get your hands on it ((US ONLY release)))

Funny thing is, they seem to have disappeared since then. I got back on the internet after a years absence, and the site/company that hosted my TIN STAR MAILING LIST had shut down, and the official Tin Star website/s seem to have done the same. The UK one is still there, but hasn't been updated since 1999. 'The Tinsters'PLANET TIN is still there, but you can't access anything on it...

and V2 RECORDS, Tin stars' record label, have no listing of Tin Star at all anymore. I've heard no news of touring from anywhere, and nothing from the band. CAN ANYONE FILL ME IN WITH TIN STAR GOINGS ON???!! "

Which is pretty much no help at all.

I spoke to a girl the other day and she couldn't believe
they were still around!
She even thought AE must be in his early fifties! :von:

No, im not keen on them live at all anymore which is a pity..

I would love to go to a Sisters gig and then be blown away, but its yet to happen. To me they are just going through the motions and playing half a set without the support of an infamous new album.

I would love to see a proper bass player, and am not keen on the guitar work (Bricheno/Bruhn being my faves of the modern era).

Obviously im in a wierd position to critisise.

Paddy.
Still playing guitar - sometimes weird shaped ones.
