interview with tom in the latest edition ( #8 ) of "the mick" - mick mercer's e-magazine.
http://mickmercer.com/themick.html
see pages 58, 59 & 60
highlights include a namecheck for yours truly and a plug for my
www.marchviolets.co.uk website, and these rather interesting tidbits:
Oh yeah! Soon after The Violets folded I worked with Tim and
Paul from The Danse Society for a while…and also Stan and
Martin from Skeletal Family. We buggered around in rehearsal
studios for a few months in Leeds trying to put a new band
together but couldn’t find a singer. Had some good ideas
though as I remember. More recently in 1996, Cleo and myself
had a band called Amania. We wrote one album’s worth of
stuff, found Craig Adams to play bass and went out to play the
Camden circuit. Some cool tunes but not much response from
the industry.
and
Do you think if you reformed the band for occasional;
recordings you’d be well received? The March Violets were
very distinctive. (I’m thinking Rosie vocals, not Cleo.)
Ausgang have done and are treated like prodigal heroic
bastards. They, like the Violets, were simply never around
for long enough, or received enough attention and
recognition. Bands in that sort of situation can return, in
whatever form they want now (including recordings only)
with great dignity, and relevance.
Funny you should mention that. Rosie, Loz and myself have
been talking about the possibility of a reunion. We are all very
much up for it. It would have to be the original line up with
Simon though. Does anyone know where he is? Oh, what a
catharsis if we could get out there and pick up where we left
off in 1984…something to see I would think!
also a rather long and very frank interview with julianne regan... makes an interesting read

there's been a few updates to tom's MULTIVERSE website, including a couple of March Violets demos, with more to follow:
"New site is uploaded. Added final mix of the Western Lullaby instrumental plus
some mp3 previews that may be of interest to you March Violets fans out there. Also bunged in some of the press that the MULTIVERSE has received recently."
