I might have posted this one years ago; the arrangement and interpretation are nothing special but there's just something cool and infectious about the energy and enthusiasm in it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgeMHno6Ff0

No pain, Summer rain; I don't think we've had Strangel on here before, this is really nice to my ears: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zqu-7KGtJmo

It was OK up till the vocals. I'm not quite getting this thing of Sisters cover versions where the singer thinks he has to do a Man-In-A-Darth-Vader-Helmet-At-The-Bottom-Of-A-50ft-Well thing. I'd much prefer to hear a natural, proper voice, even (especially!) if it doesn't sound like the original.

Bands don't need to be playing Sisters' covers to do that.
( according to that, the Merry thoughts, the duaghters of Bristol, whatever "the n1 of n2 formula"- based in faking voice and style similar to Von's-, should be excluded from the good-tasting bands list, with which I'd agree mostly!

Strangel's Suzzane is very nice indeed thanks for it.

Has anybody in their travels come across a cover of "War On Drugs"?
I am trying to put together a compilation of covers of the unreleased (obviously using the Heartland bands from the other thread wherever I can) but I can't find anybody who has covered "War On Drugs"

Look On YouTube and you could do a quadruple album of "Alice" covers but that is for someone braver than me.

Since I'm back, here's my own version of Good Things.

Voice is still recovering after teenage years misspent trying to impersonate :von:, but I'm pleased/ish with it.

A good acoustic version ... :D ... I like the doubt, the fear, the dream and the persistence in your voice ... well sung ... :notworthy: ...

And a very different version from The Sisters' or from any other covers.

Ah, it sounds so standard.
A version more leaned to the facility of YCBTO would suit me better ... ...

This is a refreshing change from the Darth Vader helmet jobs - just a pity that it's not a bit longer :

Better than most! I think the reverb might be a little excessive (it sounds like it is muddying things a bit to my ears), but I like the arrangement and the fact that the vocal is in the singer's natural register. There are also some plosives on one of the vocal lines; if you don't have a pop-flter, try wrapping the mic in a threadbare old t-shirt.

Really like it. Thanks for that, dude.

(I agree that the mix is a little suffocated, and perhaps it's partly the EQ on the guitar as well as the reverb, but that's nitpicking. The arrangement is very cool.)

This could do with less of the affected growl, but is otherwise quite nice.

I like this cover, the vocals are pretty nice to this. Too bad it is semi-finished demo

A pretty cool Dominion - at least deserves credit for trying something different.

I have been a fan of hers for many, many years. I rather like this; it would have been interesting to hear a finished version.
