THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Yes. Absolutely yes.

So is The Shroud's cover of 'Alice'...

Ugh. No. I can't agree.
The Supersuckers do a fine cover of Afterhours, though.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.
There's also both Black Light Burns and Alkaline Trio covering Lucretia My Reflection, and Cradle of Filth doing No Time to Cry, but I wouldn't call any of them good...the Ego Likeness cover is really the only Sisters cover I listen to all that regularly.

There's a swedish tribute album called "A merciful release" that has some ok covers, nothing fantastic.
The song beeing closest to fantastic on that album is the cover of Floorshow by Headtrip Inc. (With some members from old EBM act Cat Rapes Dog.) It's a stonking industrial very fast cover.
I'm a bit disappointed by the Swanö-cover on this album. With his backlog he should have been able to do a cover that would blow everything else away.
