Here we are! 16 hours of studio work in total.
I haven't heard ANYONE cover Summer before, so I thought I'd be the first.

I like this
And somehow i realise how difficult is to work with the drum and bass of the songs in the studio. Many memories returned from the 90's decade on my mind
Ofc you have the potential to do this better but for the time given and the fact that there are no other studio recordings of the object to track, i can call this an excellent start point for good things to come

I guess this was before the time you came to the Heartlands, but back then Raf and his band Ahrayeph did a great version too (bookended with Never Land!):

I'm not saying this to annoy you, but to simple point you to another great version of this song
I'm also very much looking forward to a possible new era in the Ahrayeph story as they might be onstage again... with some very familiar faces in the line up

Glad you guys like it
Great band and Raf used to be a regular on here too...
On their bandcamp page there's more to listen to, their cover of A Forest is also excellent!

And then there's this cover, live in Leuven (BE) and with quite a few Heartlanders in the audience:

I can really recommended their (only) album Marooned on Samsara as well:

Great effort, @LyanvisAberrant and co.
I particularly liked the first minute or so, with the octave higher vocal on the first verse sounding very effective.

Hey, I've been browsing this forum for a couple days now and going through the stuff in this thread I didn't see Reizstrom's lo-fi electro take on Temple of Love:
http://reizstrom-official.bandcamp.com/ ... le-of-love
I'm still undecided if it's good or bad after having the EP for several months.

I'll just quote the official blurb.
"Marian (Version)" by The Sisters Of Mercy is the ultimate, 100% Pure Example of what True Gothic Music is and what True Gothic Music sounds like. It weaves the perfect atmosphere of dreary, morbid darkness and raw, dance-y energy. From the dancefloor beat and the driving bassline to the shimmering guitars and deep Dracula vocals, "Marian (Version)" still remains the penultimate Gothic Anthem. Andrew Eldritch is the ultimate idol and hero of Astraea Invade and this cover is a total fan tribute to The Sisters Of Mercy, done in honour and for fun. And wouldn't you know, the song's namesake is A.I.'s favorite female too who is never far from all that A.I. does! LIVE FAST, DIE PRETTY AND SAVE TEN SECONDS FOR LOVE!!!!!!!!!

Agreed 100%- and so impressed was i that i tracked down his album which i also liked very much.
suffice to say there aren't many other sisters songs which i can bear to hear covered; that's not to say they're
shit necessarily, it's just about loving something so much that hearing it tampered with can be, shall we say,
disconcerting.
there is/was a leicester band called
grumblegrinder who covered "lucretia", an abomination so awful i snapped the (free) copy i was given in half. when i later made their acquaintances, i verbally repented and blagged another copy....or two. so far i have "corrected" their mistake at least five times...ho hum.

A straightforward
Lucretia by a band (Ritual) with the least goth looking guitarist yet. Nice to hear it with human drums for a change.
