@ James Blast - Oi! - I really like RHCP - OK the "early" stuff was pants but the last few albums were and are great.
"Californication" is a great album!
Andrew, I have your address, I will find you and
stab you
BTW have you heard "Californication"? - I feel you would like it, My Celtic Soul Brother!
I have to say, with the greatest respect to you Mr ATG, that Californication is the biggest load of turgid stinking horse manure made by a bunch of whining posers that has been ever been released on vinyl or CD.

I'm of the opinion that music in general started going downhill the moment these prancing fools picked up their first instruments.
you're right - not a fan.
slap bass - need I say more.

My god why has no-one mentioned Fatboy Slim?
I hate this "superstar DJ" thing!
DJs play other people's records. No talent required. (or possessed).

You try playing out live for three hours with half a record bag full of tunes that you never play normally on a sound system where the EQ works only on the output channel not on the inputs....
easy?
Though i do admit that Cook's (fatboy) a tosser..> i remember him boasting in his Guardian interview about doing lines of coke on railway tracks.. if only the fecking 12.15 had been a couple of minutes early....

A little bit of censorship won't hurt, of course...
I always found that our dear Quiffster had a just sense of ruling here, so I don't mind. But I'd rather have my postings removed with a small explanation
Or is this spring pruning?

fair comment.
I doubt that fatboy fat ever has that problem though.

Yeah.. no that nightmare was the first time I'd ever played out properly, I'd only ever played like 20 minutes on a sound system before then I get pressganged into playing with half a bag of stuff that I had been working on.. definitely a baptism of fire..
I think I must have played just about every side of every record I had with me and eventually ended up play records that I was given and never even heard before!

Scissor Sisters
Travplay
Heather f*cking Small
All those bands that old people think without which there would be no such thing as music <sigh> EG. The Beatles, Stones, Elvis........<yawn>.
I could go on but I'd get angry..........

Kill them. Now.
Didn't Justin from The Darkness describe Keane as
music for bed-wetters?

I'm with SG up to the beatles - but the Rolling Stones and Elvis do actually rock quite a lot. Even now. Especially Elvis.

The forum spat we had with libertines' fans was STUPENDOUS.. double sided attack. Keane fans never really bothered.

Good call
markfiend.
One of my colleagues at work recently asked in all innocence if I liked them, and ended up subjected to a 5-minute rant about them being "the worst form of derivative pop crap" who think that "by singing at a slightly higher pitch they're doing something original and different - THEY'RE NOT!"
She thinks I'm a freak anyway, so no big deal.

The younger members of the Glasgow family that have adopted me as a relative would beg to differ, but I'm not too keen on them either!
(The Scissor Sisters, not the Glasgow family!

It's worrying that I've had to explain to three different people that 'comfortably numb' is a cover version!
