that people are so desperate for a "sign" from above that they are willing to believe its even semi-official dissappoints me.

From personal experience - you wouldn't really want band members posting. Arms length people, arms length - you find out terrible truths. Allure and mystery makes a much better 'pop star' To find out someone you once held in high regard is a burke/bully yada yada yada, puts a whole dampner on your enjoyment of the band.
