Jesus and Mary Chain to reform?

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I am a Leeds United fan because I was very naughty in a previous life.

Ooh I don't know. They were blummin awful at the Leeds Festival (or was it still V back then :? ) a few years back. Don't tarnish the memory boys.
There is increasing evidence to suggest that Chris may have been being sarcastic.

They could do it, if they're content to go for another Darklands or another Automatic. If they tried to create another Psychocandy, I'd be fearful that they'd only end up making silly asses of themselves.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

The brothers have never been shy in stating that they do not get on at all, could they be civil enough to each other for a whole tour?

This week's Village Voice in New York, which hit the streets Tuesday night, features a full-page ad announcing Bjork and the Jesus and Mary Chain as the headliners on April 27th.
Apparently...but I'll not hold my breath :innocent:

They kissed and made up at their dads funeral last year, and have recorded a new albums worth of material, intended for an autumn release.

From a very good source

it's amazing what a bit of death'll do.

the odd thing is i saw what i assumed was a 'new' video on MTV late last year but couldn't see any sign of it in the shops.
Video was one of the messers Reid in a hotel geeting pissed with some ladies and lots of polaroids, if that rings any bells?

there might be some explanations on their Wiki entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jesus_and_Mary_Chain

For me The JAM-C blew me away when I heard them with Upside Down and Never Understand on the Peel Show way back. I was really disappointed by Darklands and the only other albums I own are Barbed Wire Kisses (a must) and Munki (not a must), I remember getting Honey's Dead, a supposed return to form, out the record library and it washing right over me. I remember nothing. Saw them on the Automatic tour and they were dull.
They stand and fall for me with Psycho Candy and BWK. :|

whaurs Derek R when ye need him...?

I saw them in around '94 I think and they were fab - really one of the best gigs I have been to...
Just a few short years later and they were sad, grumpy, jaded men who had seemingly abandoned all musical integrity.

Such a waste, they were once so great. :(

He's paying over the odds for tickets to this

Echo & the Bunnymen, The Charlatans and Ian Brown all in one gig? Can't believe I missed the tickets going on sale

Imagine if the JAMC were added to that bill :notworthy:
