Smurphs - Brief Biog - Which is Nice

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I found the following brief "write up" about the Smurphs - taken from a site that has not been updated since March 2000

Point you browsers here:-

http://charon.gothic.net/~dhouse/band-descriptions.html

The Sisters of Murphy

Huddersfield's very own Sisters of Mercy tribute band. The Sisters of Murphy pay tribute to one of Leeds' best exports. While Andrew Elvidge [sic] is reduced to playing some of Leeds' smallest pub venues the Murphs are reliving the glory days. With the help of Mr. Rusty on guitar, bass player Mark Murphy and drummer Nurse Landslide, the younger Sisters will be recreating classics like Alice,First & Last & Always and, of course, Temple Of Love.

pardon me - i forgot this place was full of miserable g*ths. look around a little and you'll quite quickly find plenty of place which are considerably less green and/or pleasant than the glorious united kingdom of great britain and northern ireland. which is not to suggest for one moment that our local archipelago is in anyway perfect or indeed superior to any other part of the planet, solar system, galaxy or universe we inhabit.

but it is britain. i am british. and actually, i quite like it that way.

Yep, I spend about a quarter of my time out of this country, and I can confirm, it is greener, and cleaner, and more efficient, and more bloody fun, just about everywhere on the mainland. I saw less drunken louts in 3 weeks in Russia than in ten minutes in London.

As I have already stated I'm not against Russians (my great-grandmother was Russian, too) but to be true - it's hard to compete in drinking with them.

Actually, there is one place I enjoyed living in the UK, Scarborough, I was aged 0-13 though, and I don't think you really notice much at that age.

By the way, "yeah, right. apparently even c**t's quite nice until you have to live there...." my English mates who live in Russia have been there for 5 years now, and have no plans to come back, ever. I'm not being disengenous (erm how the hell do you spell that!) but I really am just saving enough money to get out. Sorry if you like it here, but I don't :? Fair enough :?:
