THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.
Best: London Crystal Palace, 31.07.93: this one was my first one, really enjoy it, if i have good memory, they played "heartland" during soundcheck. Barcelona, Spain, 13.05.06: not too much smoke, very good voice, good show
Worst: London, Astoria, 02.05.06: I got my ticket very late via ebay seller,
he came just 20 minutes before the gig so i was on the balcony, too much smoke, I haven't seen very much
Best: Radio City Music Hall (4th row) 1991
Electric Factory 1997 - broke the 6 year drought, one of very few shows that year.
Worst:
Roseland Ballroom, NYC 1998 - arrived very late due to car trouble.
Electric Factory 2006 - de-evolution has sapped what made TSOM so great. (sorry) Needs real bass player and better new songs.
best - London Forum 13th Feb 1998
bloody fantastic gig! had it all - new songs, dodgy covers and old classics, all played as they were meant to be played
worst - London Astoria 23rd Feb 2001
Not a good night. s**t venue for sound anyway, but didnt feel the 'passion' that night. The only Sisters gig I have ever left feeling disappointed.

Think the astoria is a bogus venue for the band, I remember this as very lukewarm gig too. Spigel and I were underwhelmed, another going through the motions night

So true about the bass player. I still don't understand that a band that was once defined by the bass actually does not have a bass player on stage...
Best : London 97, good set, good people
Worst : Norwich 06, I had a terrible headache throughout the whole set and didn't enjoy it at all.
Worst performance by the Sisters would probably have been Nottingham 2000, although it sounds fine on the boot, it really seemed like they were going through the motions.
Best: Göteborg 2006
Worst: Helsinki 2006 (coz i travelled there for Sisters and then ruined it by getting sloshed way early and practically missing the gig and people)
