I know it's a second thread for today, but... (20/09/07)

The Royal Mail apparently had commemorative stamps planned for when Margaret Thatcher dies. But then someone pointed out that they probably won't stick to the envelopes.

Duh it was easy. Open up the ;D smiley in photoshop, zoom in to 1600%, transcribe the pixel pattern into a text editor as:

Code: Select all

.....xxxxx
...xx.....xx
..x.........x
.x..xx...xx..x
.x.x..x.x..x.x
x.............x
x.xxxxxxxxxxx.x
x.x..x...x..x.x
x.x..x...x..x.x
x.x..x...x..x.x
.x.x.x...x.x.x
.x..xx...xx..x
..x..xxxxx..x
...xx.....xx
.....xxxxx
then search-and-replace the xs with ;D and the .s with a 15x15pixel transparent image. Total time spent, less than three minutes. ;D

Oh, I forgot; I put spaces in too, so it should really be:

Code: Select all

. . . . . x x x x x
. . . x x . . . . . x x
. . x . . . . . . . . . x
. x . . x x . . . x x . . x
. x . x . . x . x . . x . x
x . . . . . . . . . . . . . x
x . x x x x x x x x x x x . x
x . x . . x . . . x . . x . x
x . x . . x . . . x . . x . x
x . x . . x . . . x . . x . x
. x . x . x . . . x . x . x
. x . . x x . . . x x . . x
. . x . . x x x x x . . x
. . . x x . . . . . x x
