Envelope sleeve versions of 12" singles

Have you established a good reputation at HL and got some Sisters stuff to sell or trade with the community? Or are you searching for that elusive ultra rare live bootleg from 1988? Ever had a bad experience with a trader on Ebay? Let us all know here. Outdated threads will be purged over time.

Hi,

Just so my first topic won't fall under spam, I'll create one more topic to start a discussion then... :)

When I was collecting in the eighties, I always wanted to find the envelope sleeve, i.e. a sleeve without inner sleeve, since they were the most hard to find. Can someone confirm that the envelope sleeve versions are the most rare, and first pressings of the official 12" releases? The only two I don't have is the Reptile House EP (it has the lyric sheet so I guess it never came with envelope sleeve?) and also Walk Away, never seen that without inner sleeve either.

Next question while I'm writing:

Are there any information about different run-out groove etchings on the 7" and 12" singles? I know that there are different pressings with different inscriptions, since I for example have two versions of both Walk Away and No Time To Cry (7"), with different etchings. Any information about that somewhere?

Hi Peggen and Welcome,

I can answer your second question, look here - Sisters Wiki, this will give you lots of great info and hours of reading.
Here's the link to the Discography section so you'll find all the runout etchings in here.

(You'll find the proper link to Sisters Wiki at the top right corner on here (Just below the HL logo).
Have a good look round on there - there are links to other resourses as well.

I'm sorry, I can't answer your first question but I'm sure there are experts on here who can.

Sorry to drag this one to the top - I was under the impression that envelope sleeves (for the later singles, This Corrosion etc.) were the most common...?

I had an 'envelope sleeve' version of Body & Soul - but then when I found a thick-spine copy, I cut up the Envelope sleeve to stick on my record box !!

Well, at least in Sweden it has for sure been more difficult to find the envelope versions. I was unfortunately too young to collect up to 1985, but I know for sure that the 12" singles (87-) first came with envelope sleeves. But again, that was in Sweden, not sure if that was the case in for example UK?
