Re-recording?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I would definately say that the Temple Of Love of 92 is a far greater piece of music than the original. The re-recording of Alice on the UTG EP wasn´t too hot though, except for some vocal parts.

Is there any other song anybody would like to hear with a new studio take?

Personally I think Body And Soul could do well with a new studio recording. The vocals are fine as they are, but the Dr och the Guitars aren´t particularly happening there in my opinion.

i think he should do a cover of You're Lost Little Girl.

Does that answer your question?

Come to think of it, i think this is a fantastic idea.

I seem to remember that my first ever post here, many years ago, was a reply on a "what songs should the Sisters cover" thread - my suggestion was Love On The Rocks, which I still think would be a damn fine choice.

Leave Body & Soul well alone I say.
How about actually 'recording' C & B, Summer, Susanne etc...?

no, there's a thread about 'what covers you'd like to hear' elsewhere but you're too busy dancing naked in the woods

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I, personally, think :von: should re-record 'Cry Little Sister (Theme From The Lost Boys)'

The vocals don't really sound quite right.

Yeah I'm with Hom_. Rather than going down the reissue repackage route all the bloody time how about getting yer arse in gear and recording the "new" songs :von:?

Seriously?
Why do people think TSOM had anything to do with this song?
I actually thought this chick in Flagstaff was a narc
b'cos she claimed to be this big Sisters' fan,
yet thought this song was part of his discography.

Then when I saw so many entries on YouTube
with the Sisters name on it, it occurred to me that maybe it was intentional
disinformation, put out there by folks who wanted to distinguish
between the true Sisters fans & the poseurs.

;D

I used to do s**t like that back in Upper School.
We didn't have computers back then, much less YouTube,
but we had other antics for that purpose.

I think jande might be acting the maggot a little here. ;)

Maybe the "unreleased" stuff has already been put down? and, we've all waited this long, so will another 21 years really be that bad?
