So do something to not let Coldplay play their rather intellectual cold music for shopping malls and make sure that your band gonna play there. Like close someone in the bubble to protect him (them?) from any diseases, bacterial and viruses, build some teleport machine (yea know only statistically plane are safer that cars), check it first if it works and then send them to Japan. Oh, I was almost forgot, talk to mother earth to not dance or eat beans to make sure that there will be no earthquakes and hurricanes.
Is it plausible that they'd go that far for just one gig?
The Cure did it a few years ago, but they were headlining and presumably were paid a fortune for their time. The Sisters couldn't be headlining, unless there's a lesser hard rock stage or something like that.
So I'd hope there might be one or two other gigs around this time.

Maybe a stop over on the way to Australia? Just guessing. It doesn't sound very smart to play an indoor gig in Japan very close to a gig at the festival.
Taiwan or China were cool - and they're close to Japan!!!
Blixa of Einstürzende Neubauten lives in Beijing and I hear he DJs sometimes. The "official" music scene there is so boring slick and 120% perfect, many people are tired of that, so there is a beginning alternative music scene...
(no harm in daydraming right? )
I saw The Cure in 2007 for the Asia Tour and it was :
- Difficult for to have a day ticket.
- This place is far away from Tokyo and expensive.
- The Japanese audience was CRAP.
- Naeba or Niigita, not too many hotels and expensive.
