mrs qb bought an item of clothing on ebay for £25 on the 11th july. it was from a seller basied in the uk (wigan iirc)
she sent a cheque in the first post the next day.
the cheque hasnt cleared, and the goods havent arrived yet.
the thing is she payed an extra £6 for "overnight business post" too.
she has emailed the seller 3 times asking if they have received the cheque, as she will need to cancel it and get another off to them asap if they havent get it yet.
but the seller hasnt replied to any of her emails.
what should we do now? how do you complain, and who to? and is it too early to be worried?
its a combination of factors that are making both of us worry:
1) she payed the extra and it still hasnt arrived - surely they should refund this?
2) the cheque hasnt (last time we checked) been cashed
3) they havent replied to any emails
what should we do?
ebay - advice needed
I had a case where somebody I'd bought from couldn't respond to
me via mail - they could have been chewed up by our hungy spam
filter at work. Anyway I mailed them though ebay and we corresponded
that way and it all sorted its-self out.
try this - that way you know that they've definitely got correspondance from you - its also logged by ebay and is good for 'comeback' later. If you hear nothing after that I'd cancel it and then tell them you've done so and leave some tasteful feedback in their profile - that can't be removed once its been added so you've got your story in first.
If they aren't answering their mails it looks like it might be about to become a painful experience, I know real life can get in the way from time to time but it sounds like you were expecting better service - how long has it been ? if its more than a week or so with no contact after the ebay mail - cancel the cheque and forget it.
paying by cheque and including cash for overnight delivery is a
'funny one' because it looks like you've expected your item to be
despatched on receipt of cheque whereas the seller isn't going to be
too keen to let the item go until its in the bank. You haven't quoted
the advert so we can't really see how it was worded - but I'd have
thought paying for overnight delivery would only be appropriate if
you were paying by paypal or some other mechanism where payment
of funds is electronically instant, otherwise whats a day or 2 after you've waited a week for the cheque to clear

ahem. he seemed really nice too
What’s the difference between a buffalo and a bison?
I'm having a few problems too (with "ze Germans" ) 3 sellers, 2 of whom got the postage wrong when they sent me the amount for checkout and want me to pay the difference in cash (in Euros), and another has sent me a warning if I don't pay in cash I'll be blacklisted (I've only just won the damn thing and his auction page offered wire transfer! ).
Anyone got any advice? I don't wanna send cash in the post, unless it is a Eurocheque or postal order, etc.
