Ooh, little bit controversial

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I don't want this to be another politics thread (but being HL it might evolve in any old direction) but I was wondering if anyone has some "controversial" opinions, ones that they think most people probably won't share.

For example:

I was (and still am) more upset by the death of Tony Wilson than by the death of John Peel.
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

I was (and am) surprised by how much Anthony Wilson's death upset me.

Controversial opnions? Hmmm.
Is hating Bryan Ferry classed as controversial? Cos I do. With a passion.

....and to add.....

I recently read that Roger Waters is an active member of The Countryside Alliance. My opinion of him plummeted drastically. :(

Hating Morrissey whole-heartedly does not sound controversial, it sounds common sense ;D

I detest the "little fish" signs on the back of cars signifying a christian/follower of Christ. If you are a believer and want to advertise the fact have the courage of your convictions and state it! dont try and be clever with your fish(er) of men symbol.
Isn't your belief system supposed to be all-inclusive not just those who have the education to understand said symbol?

is that controversial??

I still can't get enough Star Wars - original films, prequel trilogy, tv series, sequel trilogy. ;D

At least we agree on 2 out of 3.
You're wrong about Ferry though.
He is awful in every aspect.

Oh I quite like those.

They're a great warning for the fact that the driver is likely to be appallingly rude, inconsiderate, and an all-round bad driver. ;D

I prefer the Beastle over Rolling Stones; RS were more about marketing, PR stuff than music.
hating Bono is not a controversy here.
Coldplay is mediocre, sweet music for boring middle class, also seems to be not so controversial opinin here, i guess.
but i know, i like Metallica's Load and second half of Lulu.

i find bumber stickers - proclamation of interests, will, policitac, religion affiliations - extremly daft and stupid.

@czuczu:same here, i felt asleep during watching and i tried few times; but same goes with: Alien and Indiana Jones and Star Trek.[/list]

I'm 56 in August and still wear t-shirts with band names on, my body naturally rejects a regular shirt shirt

I think The Sisters are s**t now and The Eureka Machines are just a pub rock band

I enjoy andrew's whale noises in the recent live shows.

Controversial ? or just deeply sad ...

1. The best new band in the past year is Foghorn Lonesome.
2. Angela Gossow retiring from Arch Enemy is one of the saddest pieces of rock news so far this year
3. The line up for Sonisphere is a load of crap
4. NightxNight is a total waste of Ben's talent
5. Scotland and RUK are better together

Robert de Niro is the most overrated actor in history. He's just a mass of annoying tics.

Kevin Spacey and Clint Eastwood are overrated too.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

Maybe I remember "Anthony H" more because I grew up in the North West of England?
