hmmm...not sure where TSOM would fall in this study. Apparently music can't have both emotional depth and cerebral depth?!?

Crazy stuff ... I don't think listeners can be separated in only two main groups ...
Empathetic = emotional - which, IMHO, is already a wrong assumtion.
I've seen too many people who are highly emotional - as long as it's all about themselves.
Beyond that they lack any bit of empathy.

Systematic = analytic - as a catagory for listeners of "intense" music.
Given the masses of complete brainless drunkards or otherwise intoxicated people at festivals and gigs,
where do they take the idea of "analytic" from and how the hell, did they manage, on a basis like that,
to get money to fund their study :?: :lol: ...

It does seem more than a bit simplistic. But then simplistic always makes better stories.
