Hey, this one is written by the guy who wrote the Star Wars film that started with a brother-sister scene and finished with the baddie telling the hero that he f**ked his mother...Phil wrote:Jesus, how does someone my age watch Chewbacca and Han Solo get wasted and not come out of the cinema requiring some kind of counselling?
Frankly I'd be ok with Han and Chewie getting vapourised, pulped, liquidated or otherwise terminated. Can't honestly say that I was that vested in them.Phil wrote:Jesus, how does someone my age watch Chewbacca and Han Solo get wasted and not come out of the cinema requiring some kind of counselling?
Can you imagine what non-earth species readers are making of this article? " 'Ere, Zarg - you read this? There's films on planet earth, right, and right after people watch them they drop dead!"Pista wrote:Talking of dust in the air

I have to wait until 20th when the local cinema is showing it in its original language.markfiend wrote:I'll be going to see it as early as I can
As part of my preparation I decided to watch Episodes I-VI.eastmidswhizzkid wrote:very much looking forward to it, maybe even more than i was looking forward to phantom menace, simply because they cant possibly make the same mistake a 2nd -ok 4th- time, surely?
I always wondered if McGregor was just trying too hard to be Alec Guiness.Pista wrote: & given that McGregor is an accomplished actor too, I have to ask myself did Lucas intentionally direct him to be worse than Christensen to keep Anakin as the focal point?
Yes it is. There's a reason for that.Phil wrote:[It's easy to slag them off

I won't be going to see the new films. Love the originals, hate the prequels, never liked anything I've seen by J.J., Abrams, and have long since come to the conclusion (not just with Star Wars but lots of others too) that once something's over and done and the dust has settled, you shouldn't go back and try to do it again. I have no desire to see Han Solo and Princess Leia with their zimmers, and nor do I want to see Star Wars with a bunch of new characters who aren't Luke, Han and Leia. It was wonderful 30-odd years ago, it doesn't need to be done again.
Amen, if only more people had a bit of class rather than greed.stufarq wrote:it doesn't need to be done again.
