That was fun! Nice venue, cosier as the Rockhal and a pretty small stage so only smoke and no mirrors today. Heck, the friendly giant Dylan only just fitted under that low ceiling. Maybe Von could even touch it if he really tried
Anyway, it was sold out so already pretty packed for A.A. Williams and I really dug their set. Had missed her gig at Roadburn earlier this year because of the usual clash of gigs and to be able to see her open for the Sisters was a real treat for me. Lots of chatty folks around, but the people in the front rows seemed to be into it. Very nice! Then the gathering of the tribes began taking shape, the sisters were on next... More as opener, not my fave in that role, but hey it's just a midweek show in Luxembourg of all places so no complaining.
Pretty good set, no surprises for the wicked. It seems to me the shift from Chris to Dylan has done the band some good, there's a fresh energy, they're having more fun doing the silly thing they do, more interaction and Von's voice coming through better. Next stop: Paris
