Sisters Norwich 2006

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I believe 2006? I remember driving to the gig and driving back home and everything else seems so vague. Of all the past gigs I’ve attended this gig as far as my memory serves never existed! :?

Yes 2006. I saw you after the show, albeit briefly. You were both there and not there. The show must've been good huh?
You were also at the London Astoria gig on the same tour, but that one is best forgotten (completely). :urff:

It was a strange tour really. I went to this gig and it did not stick in my memory - the only things I remember are bumping into the band when I was checking in and they were checking out at the Holiday Inn and giving the taxi driver the wrong address to go to the Venue. I think the tickets had two University venues on it and I picked the wrong one.

I saw them 3 times in 5 days on this tour. Norwich was 3 days after leeds and the day before rock city. the sound was too low and the crowd were odd but Chris and Ben were at the aftershow and Chris talked to me and various HLers for hours.

Chris: You must be Heartlanders.
Me: Yes we are -how could you tell?
Chris: Because you're intelligent...
Me: Are you saying that there are some Sisters fans who aren't intelligent?
Chris: .....I'm saying that there are some Sisters fans who aren't Heartlanders....
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I think I did a few gigs that year. I went to Nottingham at the rock city but there was so much fog on the road that sisters on stage look seeable through the dry ice. I think I did Norwich as well. Two bars in the venue on the left and right hand side. It was mixed but light years better than the London dates. Not sure now was a while back.
